Designed for Longer Life when drilling out Spot Welds in the new generation of Ultra High Strength Steels.
CryoCobalt drills are unique due to the micro-sharpness created by using added Cobalt, which makes them ideal for working on Spot Welds in high-strength steels and ultra high-strength boron steel.
In independent testing, CryoCobalt drills typically outperformed standard HSS drills by up to 5 times, and HSS Cobalt drills by up to two times ** (** UKAS acredited test house )
CryoCobalt drills last longer, resist higher temperatures, and retain their strength better than standard HSS or Cobalt drills, and can be re-sharpened when necessary.
Made from CM-88 Chrome Molybdenum High Heat Steel patented Cryophase thermal cycling cryogenic treatment.
Drills material up to 58HRC hardness at temperatures up to 650°C, created by the addition of 8% added Cobalt ( compared with std HSS Steels ) 135° angle split drill point with Gold-Oxide coating.
